Feeding Poor Families in Yemen for Ramadan

Yemen
MYR

Key Points

  • Over 17 million people in Yemen face acute food insecurity, making it one of the world’s worst hunger crises.
  • Taiz is among the hardest-hit areas, where conflict and economic collapse have made even bread difficult to afford.
  • This Ramadan, we are providing hot iftar meals and daily bread packs to vulnerable families.
  • If you can’t sponsor a full meal, your donation will be pooled to ensure families are still fed. This campaign is zakat-eligible.
  • Hot iftar meal: $3 (RM 14) per person
  • Daily bread pack: $0.50 (RM 2) per family

Campaign Story

This Ramadan, while many of us break our fast in comfort, millions of families in Yemen will do so with uncertainty. Yemen is now entering its tenth year of conflict, and the toll is devastating. According to the UN, over 17 million people are food insecure, with millions already facing emergency-level hunger. For many families, aid is not a supplement. It is the difference between eating and not eating.

In places like Taiz, families are not skipping meals by choice. They are skipping because there is nothing left. Bread prices have risen, incomes have collapsed, and parents are doing everything they can just to get through one more day.

Your support changes that. By providing prepared iftar meals and fresh bread, families are spared the daily struggle of finding food before sunset. Parents no longer have to choose between feeding their children and paying for medicine or transport. They can break their fast on time, together, and with dignity.

Our Ramadan Response

Since 2017, Iltizam has been operating bakeries in Yemen, serving as a lifeline of hope for thousands of families. This Ramadan, they are delivering immediate food relief to:

  • Internally displaced families
  • Low-income households
  • Single mothers
  • Elderly
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Children and the elderly who are at a high risk of malnutrition

You Can Make A Difference

  • $3 (RM 14) can provide a warm iftar meal
  • $0.50 (RM 2) can supply bread for a family

The Prophetic Promise

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “He who provides a fasting person something with which to break his fast with, will earn the same reward as the one who was observing the fast, without diminishing in any way the reward of the latter.” [Tirmidhi]

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and the Hereafter.” [Muslim]

You may never meet the family you help. But they will remember you at iftar. And many will raise their hands in duʿā’ for the one who fed them when they had nothing. Give today. Feed a fasting family in Yemen.
