US $1916 (RM 8083) disbursed to charity partner on 31st April 2019.
Donations were used to install 70.04 Kilo-Watt solar panels under Net Energy Metering by SEDA Malaysia for Masjid Al Quddus Paya Bemban.
Seeing the contributions and support from the community, the Masjid using its Koperasi (Cooperative) and Tabung Persatuan (Masjid Fund) combined to have a shared investment to give back to the Masjid.
Your donations inspired the Masjid Cooperative to raise and donate RM. 300,000.00 to the project.
Protecting the earth and the natural resources we have been blessed with is something we often overlook in Islam and in light of worsening environmental conditions, Muslims should be at the forefront of taking steps to be more environmentally aware.
Alhamdulillah, in lieu of that, we are installing a solar photovoltaic system for Sultan Muhammad 3 Mosque in Pasir Mas, Kelantan under a programme by the Malaysian Government. The objective is to introduce clean and renewable energy sources that can be used by the management of the State Islamic Religious Council, Mosque, Surau and Community.
This will also provide extra income to the mosque via a government Feed in Tariff (FIT) program which will reduce the mosque monthly utility expenses. InshaAllah with everything in place, it will relieve a lot of the administrative burden on the various managements.
For every dollar spent for this noble cause, it will be multiplied by Allah as he said in the Qur’an,
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven stems; in each stem is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.”(Al-Baqarah 2:261)
WHO IS INVOLVED
- – Government: Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KETTHA)
- – Authorities: Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA Malaysia)
- – Service Provider: Green Energy Generation Sdn Bhd
- – Approved by: Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Istiadat Melayu Kelantan (MAIK)
- – Renewable Energy supplier: Sultan Muhammad 3 Mosque
YOUR IMPACT: PROVIDE EXTRA INCOME TO THE MOSQUE AND REDUCE ELECTRICITY BILLS FOR THE NEXT 21 YEARS
The solar system can reduce the cost of payment for the use of electricity bills of the mosque for each month for the next 21 years via the Feed in Tariff programme and the Renewable Energy Purchased Power Agreement (REPPA) with Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
In future, this could also accommodate the cost of operating necessities such as purchasing management equipment and covering maintenance costs, adding more prayer clothes, Qurans and prayer mats for the mosque and funding activities organized by the mosque for the surrounding community.[
