The ‘I Excel My Al-Fatihah” is a programme to raise awareness on the importance of learning Surah Al-Fatihah correctly.

The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said that: ”Whoever does not recite Surah Al-Fatihah in his prayer, his prayer is invalid.” [Sahih Al Bukhari]

With Recite App,  reciters are connected with Al Qur’an teachers, and the process of face-to-face validation is “simulated” on a mobile environment, allowing the programme to be more accessible to the public.

Users can submit recordings of their Al Fatihah readings to Recite App, and their recitals will be validated by qualified Qur’an teachers on the platform.

A digital badge will be awarded to the users once teachers have approved and verified their recitals.

The intention since day one is to offer an easier, more convenient, and cheaper avenue for adult Muslims to master Qur’an recitations.

The aim is to ensure 10,000 people will recite Al Fatihah in the correct way. This crowdfunding campaign is to raise funds which will be used to pay for the services of the teachers and the usage of the platform for this programme.

The Prophet (s.a.w) said that: “Whoever teaches some knowledge will have the reward of the one who acts upon it, without that detracting from his reward in the slightest.” [Sunan Ibn Majah, Book 1, Hadeeth no. 246]

Factors such as tight work schedules and family commitments can make it hard for a Muslim to find time to attend Qur’an learning classes. The Recite App is an option especially for those Muslims who have trouble arranging such lessons.

At the end of the day, it’s all about making Muslims aware that they need not feel ashamed for seeking help in improving their recitations. Recite App is certainly playing a huge role in dealing with this commonplace issue and expects to continue doing so as the app is frequently being improved.

Recite App also provides an economic platform for the Al Qur’an teachers to earn extra income. The teachers will get paid every time they review and validate users’ recitation. With our mobile platform, Al Qur’an teachers are able to access and connect with a wider target audience and market in disseminating their knowledge of the Qur’an. The Prophet (s.a.w) said: “The best charity is when a Muslim man gains knowledge, then he teaches it to his Muslim brother.” [Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadeeth no. 243]
