Le En is a lovely and positive young girl despite having to deal with health issues that left her with communication and eyesight problems. Although Le En’s figure is a little different from an average-sized child, her mother always remind her not to be affected by what others think and to be confident with herself. Despite several hurdles and curveballs that life has thrown at her, Le En still strongly believes that the world is a beautiful place with kind and caring souls who are always there to help people in need.
When Le En was only a newborn, her family had already noticed a bulge in her chest. After consulting with doctors, her family was reassured that things were fine and Le En was naturally born that way. However at 2 years old, she was unusually scrawny and this caused her family to return to their worries. They then took her for a blood test and – to their shock – found out that Le En was diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome. When she was about 5 to 6 years old, the syndrome started to affect her eyesight and communication. She had to make frequent visits to the hospital for further observation concerning her scoliosis, heart and lungs (only able to function at half of the normal rate). An Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) doctor recently recommended for an immediate surgery to save Le En’s life.
Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR) Complex – Mitral valve replacement is a cardiac surgical procedure in which a patient’s diseased mitral valve is replaced by either a mechanical or bioprosthetic valve. Mitral valve replacement is performed when the valve becomes too tight (mitral valve stenosis) for blood to flow into the left ventricle, or too loose (mitral valve regurgitation) in which case blood can leak back into the left atrium and thereby back into the lung. Mitral valve replacement is an open heart surgical procedure, it requires placing the patient on cardiopulmonary bypass.
